MKUCS offers assessment and treatment of conditions which you think have an urgent need to be seen and therefore cannot wait until you can access your own GP.
If you are uncertain, please call 111 to avoid making an unnecessary journey.
MKUCS is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
Our Service is provided by a medical Team comprised of Clinical Support Workers, Integrated Healthcare Assistants, Urgent Care Practitioners, Urgent Care Practitioner Prescribers, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and GPs.
On Arrival to the service
Patients will be greeted by Clinical Support Workers and Integrated Healthcare Assistants when attending the service.
Every walk-in-patient will have their observations taken, such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and respiratory rate, to help ascertain the extent of their illness and a priority in being assessed further.
Depending on the presentation and observations you may go on to be Triaged by a senior staff nurse to ensure that you are safe to wait or are redirected to another department such as the Emergency Department.
